16 weeks

Well, I am about to start week 16. This week I seem to keep switching between still being somewhat yucky feeling and feeling much better (with more energy). I have started experimenting with a variety of foods again, even though I still can only get a few bites of chicken down at a time. I have been eating eggs this week to try to get more protein into my body. Eating is probably the most frustrating part of pregnancy. Two of my friends had babies this week, and it hit me as pretty overwhelming. Crazy! I am one of the next ones. I am getting really excited. Really, really, really excited. Brandon is too, he is starting to be more protective and cuddly with me. I am loving it. We are down to three boys names, with a definite boy middle name and a definite girl’s name.

This week, we registered at Babies’R’Us. What a frustrating process! We walked out extremely disappointed with the store, and are much more impressed with Amazon.com. The prices are cheaper for the same products, they have more color choices, so we can get exactly what we want, and free shipping on most items. We are still at the beginning of building both registries, because we would like people to have the opportunity to pick something up at the store if they are not online people, but we actually like some of the stuff (mostly, big items) on Amazon.com registry better, such as the carseat for my car (Babies’R’Us only has this yucky brown color, and Amazon has the same one in a pretty grey and blue). We have decided that while we like the stuff and convenience of a superstore at Babies’R’Us, we just have to not interact with too many employees so that we don’t get frustrated. But, they have such cute baby stuff! I love all of the little clothes. Those kinds of things, like sheets and clothes, we want to touch, as well as have people have the opportunity to touch as well. We are all about making sure the baby has lots of soft things.

If you would like to see our Amazon.com resigtry, the only trick is to first click on the “Toys, Kids, and Baby” link on the left hand side, and click on “Baby”. Then, on the right, you see the “Baby Registry” logo that you can click on.

I have not “popped” yet, but I do have the beginnings of a belly. Nothing too obvious, but if you know I am pregnant, you can tell I have a belly.

We also have decide to go to a Childbirth class in November. They want you to register really early, so we are sending over our information. Hopefully, we may meet new other mommies and daddies to be.

Mom & Dad came up to visit this week. It is always so nice to see them.

14 weeks

Woo Hoo! I am at 14 weeks today. Still eating lots of bagels, but I am starting to feel better otherwise. I still don't like to go near many foods, but I am getting hungry, which was rare for a while. My exciting news of the day is that we were at Disney property control (a store for Cast Members that they sell lost items from parks, broken items, and new but extra merchandise), and we found an Ergo Baby Carrier (which I was given the recommendation for) for $2.00. We just need to wash it. I checked online, and it is a $105 sling. Woo Hoo!

I am at the stage in which I feel my "glow." That is pretty cool. I was the matron of honor at my best friend's wedding this weekend (Lauren & Steve got married!), and I felt pretty awesome. I only ran out of energy at the end of the day, but I did put in a very long day. I seem to be smiling a lot. It is a fabulous thing.

13 weeks picture

Still pretty skinny, but starting to have people that know say that have a "small cute baby bump." This was over a week ago.

13 weeks, 1 day...a whole bunch to go : )

Lots of things going on this week. Back at school, but with no students yet. I told most of the people I was close with, and then decided to just tell my principal so he didn’t hear it from someone else. He took it fine (he just transferred to our school, so this was one of my first impressions). I actually seemed to impress him by informing him that since I value advanced planning, I wanted to give him the same respect. I also told him that because I was extremely organized, everything would be set way in advance for the substitute. Other people at school are very excited. My friend Rachelle, who is 7 months pregnant, is going to give me a bassinet when she is done with it. Woo Hoo!

We had our next doctor’s appointment this week. Heartbeat is healthy, everything is good. Our next ultrasound is in about 6 or 7 weeks, and it is 4D. It is standard procedure at this doctor. Cool, huh? We get a CD and everything.

We got our first baby’s gift. Our cousins, Ben & Lisa, sent us a Florida Gator’s bib. I am not sure if it out of the goodness of their hearts, or if it is so the baby throws up all over the Gators, but either way, I love it. And, by giving the second option, Brandon is willing to put in on the baby! (Ha Ha! Not even a Mommy yet and I can also persuade my husband to put on clothing of a rivalry school)

While we will be registering at Babies’R’Us at a later date, we have also registered on Amazon.com. We have decided on our stroller as well as our crib (which is very Jazzy), so if you would like to see, you can put either of our names in the baby registry section of Amazon.com and let me know what you think!

We have a very full plate the next couple of weeks, with a wedding, the beginning of schools (regular for both of us, and the beginning of Hebrew School as well). In case you do not know, Brandon has received a part time position as the Principal of the Religious School. This is in addition to our full time jobs, and I am assisting him in any way I can. So, these next couple of weeks are going to be great, but very busy.

Last day of the First Trimester!

Tomorrow I officially am in my 2nd trimester, I am 12 weeks! This is monumentally exciting. We spend last night and today at Walt Disney World with Melisa, Danny, and our nephew Elan. He is about 10 months. Today, we went to the Magic Kingdom. It was awesome to go to Magic Kingdom with a baby, and our own baby on the way. I think it is starting to hit me…that I am actually pregnant and having a baby of my own. My sister & brother-in-law had lots of great advice on a variety of stuff. It was very useful.

I am feeling ok. Still don’t have much of an appetite, and am looking forward to some wisdom from my cardiologist. The heat of summer has not been easy for me, but I am working on drinking lots of water and staying indoors. Mom would be proud of me.

Brandon and I are trying so hard to be contentious and not get greedy with all of the stuff that we potentially need. So much of it is useless, or will be used for such a short amount of time, we would rather not have ourselves or someone else waste their money. But, others keep encouraging us to want more expensive things. For example, we found an IKEA crib that is safe and white. David was unimpressed, and now Grandma (who is buying it for us), thinks we should get something more “Jazzy.” I don’t fault them, the crib we picked out is not “Jazzy,” but now I am researching cribs again. I found one I love, but now we have to work on the mattress, and the changing table, and a million other things I am not thinking of. I am curious on when I get to the “fine, whatever” phase, in which I just register for all of the stuff that I want instead of need and expect it to magically get to my door. I really don’t want to get to that point. Brandon & I would rather so much to save some money for my kid’s college than get the fanciest toys.

The color of the stroller is also still throwing me into a tizzy. I guess it is easier to focus on this stupid stuff than be worried or nervous about the big stuff.

I am actually calm about most things. We know that we have a million decisions, so we are just working on them slowly but shurly. Breastfeeding Q&A is on hold until Lauren & Steve’s honeymoon is over, because the neonatal nurse is going to help me with that, but I don’t need to bother them with questions two weeks before their wedding.

We think the nursery is going to be painted with a Disney theme. I know, it sounds obvious for us, but this was not our first thought, or even second or third. We were originally going to go with a candy theme, to keep it bright colors and unisex. I have been kinda sour on Disney for a year or so, but I think it will all come back when we have Kermit. We will have the VIPs (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, Goofy), and we think the top half of the room is going to be painted cartoony clouds exactly like in Andy’s Room (from Toy Story).

This blogging thing is fun! It actually helps me organize my thoughts, and keep all of my emotions in check.

11 weeks, 3 days

I am currently in my research, nervous stage. I think this blogging stuff is therapeutic, so here I go: I have not been feeling that well the past few days, but it is probably due to the fact that I am not sleeping, and my swings from my heart condition are returning. It has been years since I have had so many problems, but I have a cardiologist appointment next week.

I am still adamant on not wanting a baby shower. We are going to come down to Cooper City after the baby is born and have a “Meet the Baby” party, as opposed to a pre-baby shower. We only need a few things in the first month (car seat, onesies, pjs, bottles, and a few other things). We are planning on registering in rounds, so that we get what we need in the first month first, and then we are going to register for everything else. I feel like this registering stuff is weird. I don’t want to register for everything. Why do I need to ask someone to buy me bottle cleaning brushes? Anyway, we are going to register at Babies’R’Us, but just found a great deal at Amazon.com. If we get some of our big ticket items from Amazon, we get 6 months of free diapers (the organic stuff).

Brandon was cuddling with me last night, and said that he has started to notice a difference. In addition, today I put on clothes, and for the first time, feel like I have the smallest pregnant belly. I took a picture just because I was so excited. I am attaching the picture. Please don’t make fun of my funny face, I know, it looks horrible.

We got our house professionally cleaned for the first time yesterday. What a luxury. I am not sure if you guys care about all of this stuff, but is actually kind of nice to organize your thoughts and type everything out. My school brain turned back on last night, so I am sure that once summer is over, this may not happen as frequently, but it is fun for now : )

Belly Picture, 11 weeks

I definitely am going through my awkward belly phase. I don’t like this picture, but I figured that it will make more sense when I actually start showing a belly. This is from a few days ago, as of August 1st, I am actually 11 weeks, 3 days.

Me at 10 and a half weeks

I know, it is not a good belly picture, but we were playing with Dad's new camera. I wasn't really showing yet anyway. This was the day of the South Florida announcement to the world.
