11 weeks along

July 28, 2008

I have decided that I am going to start a blog (pictures will also be included) of my pregnancy experience. This is an easy way for our family and friends to keep tabs on the entire process. I am currently 11 weeks today, and it still has not totally registered that this is actually happening. We will be finding out the sex, but will not tell anyone the name until the baby is here, so we are temporarily calling it “Kermit (Kermie if we find out is a girl)” just as a name placeholder. We have been wanting this for a long time, and are extremely excited.

It is especially cool that my grandfather and myself are both born on Feburary 14th, and it has always been an extremely special family day. We are due February 17th.

First ultrasound was very healthy, we had arms and legs swishing as well as a very strong heartbeat.

While school and synagogue people have yet to know, the family and South Florida crowd is now fully aware. Mom is vocally excited, and I am having so much fun watching her. I am surprisingly calm. I believe I am calmer now than I have ever been in my life. Everything about this just feels right, so I am trying to enjoy it as best I can.

My food groups consist of anything that has cheese melted on it. I can eat bagels with cheese, bagel bites, apples with cheese, and my protein is cheeseburgers. I am trying to get down other stuff as well (I can eat salad pretty easily), but chicken, and fish are my worst nightmares right now.

It has started becoming more real to me. I was playing with my nephew Elan, and he was plopped on my lap. He leaned towards me and went to eat my nose. It was the first time I started to realize, “I am going to have one of these I don’t have to give back!”

I have no idea if I am going to enjoy this blogging thing or not, but I am going to give it a try. If you enjoy reading about me, please let me know, it may encourage me to write more often.
